Luke 10:38 38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word.
40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.
42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
Martha Serving Jesus and getting angry. Faithfully serving but no peace. In a effort to help others, always grumbling about something. There are many Martha around, always troubled over many things. We need to have centrality of Jesus. Christ is our centre. Jesus came into the house of Martha invited by her. He was a frequent visitor. Martha is the one who is more domineering. When Jesus came, Mary just sat down beside his feet admiring his preaching. Martha was so busy and forget about the more important thing. Christ was not the centre of her attention. Jesus did not ask for elaborated meal. He would prefer a simple meal and have the sisters learn from him. When Jesus came, Mary just sat down adoring Jesus. Martha was upset with Mary for not helping her in the kitchen. Jesus says Martha has too many cares. This tells us that if the two sisters could quickly prepare a simple meal and sit down to listen and learn from Jesus. Keep things simple because more elaborate and complex, there will be more areas of misunderstanding.
Jesus said Mary had chosen the right path. One common mistake about Christians who are very excited about Christ they get themselves involved in too many church activities. When misunderstanding comes and hurts and disappointment comes, he may give up everything. Every lighter must be involved in a ministry they feel called to do. Then be involved in personal prayers. Martha was too busy with Jesus and lost her peace given by Christ while Mary was have lots of peace. Jesus says this is one needful thing.
It is healthy to start the day like Mary - start the day with Jesus. Train our spirit and mind to focus our mind with Christ in the morning. Wake up with Jesus.
Start the day with him, through the day and end the day with him. Remind ourselves Jesus is preparing ourselves.
Lay aside all our cares as Jesus cares all our cares. Cast our cares on Jesus because he cares for us. Learn to be quiet calm and composed. Focus on goodness of Christ and be quiet in the presence of god and trusting him. Romans 12:12 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; We all have hopes. We pray for certain item and waiting for it to come to pass.
We have to trust Christ as he can do exceedingly abundantly and above to help us. Patience in trouble. All have troubles, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Christ said in this world there will be trouble but we have to be patient he will prosper us and bring us through the trouble. In life these are the 3 Things we must constantly be praying - rejoicing, Patent, prayer. We always have something we hope for but we rejoice. We always have trouble but God will bring us thriving.
Always be something we are concerned about. If we keep to this simple instruction to start the day with Christ. When Christ came to earth it was a commitment for him to die for us.
There are times we don't feel so good but in the midst of all these we develop faith and fruits and gifts of spirit. We will be able to make sound decision. Commitment. Life may seem comes and uncertain, make living word and Christ the centre of our life We got to have a needful thing. A family worship. Every ministry has their good point. Sunday worship is like family time together.
